Schedule of events and course times
The FIM orientation week before the 2026 summer semester will take place from April 7 to April 10 , i.e., in the week before the official start of lectures.
There will be campus and library tours, study tips, and supporting events (e.g., campfires, etc.) organized by the FIM student council and the IEEE university group. In addition, there is an Introduction to FIM compute-services and ressources.
An overview of the orientation week with explanations of the FSinfo events and the orientation week schedule in calendar form will be available on the FSinfo website in good time before the start of the orientation week.
Schedule:
Tuesday, April 7:
- 8:15 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.: O-Week kickoff (IM building, Innstraße 33, HS 11 ). Welcome for O-Week participants, O-Week schedule, study tips, organizational information
- 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Helpdesk of the FSinfo (Foyer FIM) for individual questions, Campusrallye, Mensa
- 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room IM 028: Preparations for participation in the computer introduction
- A script is required to participate in the computer introduction, either in
- written form
- electronic form (download in StudIP event 5000)
- If not already done: Opportunity to create your FIM computer account (required for the computer introduction)
- 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.: Kickoff event for computer introduction, start of the computer introduction courses
Wednesday, April 8:
- 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Computer introduction course (IM 028)
- 11:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Lecture: “Installing Linux at Home” (IM 028)
- 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Introduction to the FIM Department Library (in English)
- 6:00 p.m.: Social event “Pub Crawl” (Meeting Point: FIM Foyer))
Thursday, April 9:
- 8:30 a.m. – 9:50 a.m.: Computer introduction course (IM 028)
- 12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.: Mentoring program (IM 242)
- 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Computer introduction course (IM 028)
- 6:00 p.m.: Social event “Movie Night”
