Saving energy together – every little bit helps

The University is consistently investing in greater sustainability: with the new photovoltaic system on campus, we will in future be generating much of the electricity we need ourselves. What matters now is that we use this electricity consciously and frugally.

Even small steps can make a big difference:

  • Switching off the lights when everyone has left the room.
  • Keeping windows closed, particularly when the heating or air conditioning is on.
  • Taking the stairs rather than the lift if it’s just for one or two floors.
  • Switching off projectors, monitors and other equipment when they’re no longer needed (e.g. at the end of a class).
  • When leaving a seminar or study room, take a moment to check: are the lights still on? Is a window open?

Many of you are already doing their part – thank you! If we all pitch in, we can save energy, cut costs and make a real difference for sustainability.
