Starting 1st of January 2022, Prof. Dr. Hans P. Reiser will be a professor at the Department of Computer Science at Reykjavík University, Iceland.

Academic background:

Prof. Dr. Hans P. Reiser received his PhD (Dr. rer. nat) in 2006 for his work on the topic of flexible and reconfigurable support for object replication. From 2007-2010 he worked as assistant professor at the Large Scale Information System Laboratry (LaSIGE) at University of Lisbon, Portugal, and in 2010 he spent on semester as visiting professor at Carnegie-Mellon-University, Pittsburgh, USA. In 2011 he joined University of Passau as assistant professor, and in 2017/2018 he spent one semester as visiting full professor at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Research area:

The main research focus of Prof. Dr. Hans P. Reiser is on reliability and security in distributed systems, including algorithms and architectures for intrusion tolerant systems, adaptability and self-optimization of reliable group communication systems, concepts for secure and reliable cloud computing, as well as methods for malware analysis and incident investigation in cloud environments based on virtual machine introspection.
