In recent years, Cloud computing has evolved to a central part of many IT infrastructures, and integrated "cloud-of-cloud" architectures, in which heterogeneous services operated by many independent providers at various different service levels interact, will increasingly become relevant. The detection, localization, forensic investigation and in-depth analysis of attacks and anomalies is a complicated task in today's cloud infrastructures due to the separation between infrastructure provider, platform provider, software provider and end users. In more complex cloud-of-cloud environments, in which a large number of components and services of many independent operators and many different, decentralized end-user devices interact, even bigger challenges will arise in the next years. Based on expertise and prior work on intrusion tolerance, trusted cloud computing, incident analysis and cloud forensics, we will explore potential future research directions.
