DFG-Project Schwarzstart - new strategies against Blackout

In smart grids containing many small and often inverter-coupled power generators, there is an increased likelihood of cascading failures leading to large scale power grid blackouts. The DFG-funded project "Multi-Objective Black-Start in ICT-reliant Renewable Energy Systems" researches causes for cascading blackouts and focuses on the fast and reliable restoration of supply in case of a power grid outage.
