LEO MESH NETs

Subproject of EuroNGI

(internal call Jan 2005 - Jan 2006)

Aims

The project deals with Networking in Randomly Formed LEO Satellite Constellations. The project is a EuroNGI specific research project, in collaboration with University of Surrey (UNIS), UK and IRIT/ENSEEIHT, Toulouse, France.

The following are the main objectives of the proposed research:

  • Study of random LEO constellations which define the configuration of the network
  • Predict network dynamics and topology of randomly shared LEO satellites
  • Study of end-to-end QoS, and routing in random satellite constellations
  • Study IP mobility, predicted handover based on open meshed satellite constellations
