About the faculty

The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics of the University of Passau

The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics encompasses a wide range of scientific competences, and is highly regarded both in Germany and abroad, including the following areas: Mathematics, Algorithmics, Intelligent Technical Systems, Pervasive Computing, Image Processing, Multimedia Technologies, Programming Methods and Software Systems, Information and Communication Systems, and IT Security. The faculty occupies a key role in the University's Technik Plus development strategy.

The sustained high quality of teaching at our faculty is documented in the CHE rankings of German computer science faculties of May 2009 and April 2012. Our 18 professors, some 70 research assistants and more than 50 student assistants make up the backbone of our faculty and are engaged in its research and teaching.
