Research

The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics is engaged in basic and applied world-class research. With some five million euros in third-party funding per year, we are the University's strongest faculty in terms of attracted external funds. We work together with renowned research institutions, regional companies and global market leaders alike.
Teaching

We offer top-notch education and an excellent staff/student ratio. Our B.Sc. programmes in Computer Science and Internet Computing and the M.Sc. Computer Science deliver a well-rounded theoretical and applied computer science education. Our latest degree programmes, B.Sc. Mathematics and M.Sc. Computational Mathematics, were launched in October 2014 and April 2018.
Career prospects
Our graduates enjoy excellent employment prospects: less than one percent of computer science or mathematics graduates in East Bavaria aged under 30 are unemployed. Our students' international mobility is very important to us and is supported by a number of exchange and double degree programmes in partnership with universities abroad. Those completing our teacher training programmes for mathematics and for computer science can also look forward to a bright future. The faculty oversees the subject and didactics education for the teacher training programmes for all Bavarian primary and secondary school types.
