Limitations and shortcomings of current networks are subject to the Future Internet research area. Novel challenges such as security, scalability, resilience, interoperability, and adaptability have risen. The architecture of the Future Internet must consider emerging network paradigms.
The workshop provides a visionary forum for novel research challenges in the design and evaluation of network paradigms for the Future Internet with a particular focus on access networks.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Wireless mesh networks
- Internet of things
- Delay-tolerant networks and satellite communications
- Opportunistic networks
- Context awareness
- New networks approaches and protocols
Submissions to the workshop should be either full papers (up to 12 pages) or extended abstracts (up to 4 pages, Springer LNCS style) presenting original research in the workshop scope. Selected high quality contributions will be asked for full paper submissions (post workshop proceedings), to be published in a special issue of the Telecommunication Systems Journal (Springer US).
