Our Chair of AI Engineering invites applications for the position of
Doctoral Researcher (Ph.D. candidate)
to start at the earliest convenience.
We offer a full-time position, based on a three-year fixed-term contract, with the option of renewal. Remuneration is in accordance with pay grade E13 of the German public-sector collective agreement, TV-L.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach lectures (5 contact teaching hours per week).
- Participate in the supervision of bachelor and master theses.
- Carry out research on the quality of large language models (LLMs), especially on the validation of their fundamental capabilities, the assessment of their domain knowledge, and the development of applications that utilise LLMs.
Person specification
- You have a good M.Sc. or Diplom degree in computer science or a related subject. For this degree, you will have written a master’s thesis with excellent marks.
- In-depth knowledge of deep learning (especially transformers) and a good knowledge of software engineering
- In-depth knowledge of specific language models, natural language processing, qualitative analysis and/or software testing would be an advantage.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Knowledge of German would be advantageous but is not a requirement.
- Experience conducting university lectures would be desirable.
