We are pleased to announce that Fabian Peña and Prof. Steffen Herbold won the 4th Workshop on NL-based Software Engineering (NLBSE 2025) Tool Competition, an event held in conjunction with the 47th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2025) from April 27 to May 3, 2025, in Ottawa, Canada. The competition aimed to develop a high-performance yet efficient solution for classifying code comments. Our approach consisted of fine-tuning sentence embedding models to find meaningful vector representations of code comments complemented by robust classifiers (e.g. Random Forest), which allowed us to improve classification performance while controlling model efficiency at inference time.
