The Chair for Programming is coordinator of the project ExaStencils, starting in January 2013 as part of the DFG Priority Programme Software for Exascale Computing.

Dr. Martin Griebl has been appointed as an adjunct professor on 20.12.2011.

Dr. Armin Größlinger is the recipient of the 2011 Prize for excellence in teaching informatics donated by Sparda Bank Ostbayern.

The following DFG-funded projects are being conducted by the Chair for Programming in cooperation with Dr. Sven Apel:
FeatureFoundation commenced its second two-year phase in April 2011.
MapReduceFoundation commenced its first two-year phase in June 2011.

Dr. Armin Größlinger is the recipient of the Dissertation Prize 2010 donated by CommuniGate Systems for his doctoral thesis "The Challenges of Non-linear Parameters and Variables in Automatic Loop Parallelisation".

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has inducted Dr.-Ing Sven Apel into the Emmy Noether Programme, its flagship support programme for young researchers. This enables Dr. Apel to conduct research independently. Two members of his research group and he himself are being funded at the University of Passau in the Emmy Noether Programme for up to five years.
