Security in Information Systems

The assistant professorship of Security in Information Systems is under the direction of Prof. Dr. Hans P. Reiser. The research areas of the assistant professorship span from fault and intrusion tolerant replication and the early detection of security incidents in cloud environments to the development of innovative security concepts at the operating system and hypervisor level. The range of courses offered in teaching also focuses on the security and reliability of cloud environments and distributed systems.

From 01.10.2017 until 31.03.2018, Prof. Dr. Hans P. Reiser is on leave for a temporary appointment as full professor (W3) for IT security with focus on practical IT security methods and systems at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, being substituted by Prof. Dr. Robert Basmadjian during this period.

The assistant professorship for Security in Information Systems is a member of the  Institute for IT-Security and Security Law (ISL).
