Aims:The PADU project tackles the question how wireless sensor networks (WSNs) should be integrated into the Future Internet and what special challenges they present to designers and implementers, taking into account that all aspects of the design of WSN architecture, communication protocols, and mechanisms must be considered under the viewpoint of the limited energy resources available to sensor nodes. For this, we aim at developing a unified method for joint performance and durability evaluation of WSNs to be able to compare different proposed solutions with respect to the requirements of users and operators.
