The doctoral college on Multimedia Distributed Pervasive Secure Systems is a tri-national PhD program in computer science. The partners are research groups from the INSA Lyon (France), the Universität Passau (Germany) and the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy).
MDPS PhD theses focus on specific points of an integrated research program. Bringing together the research expertise of the partner groups, this program focuses on a main axis, multimedia, declined along three dimensions: distributed systems, pervasive systems, IT-security.
The goal of the project is not only to train high-level researchers in these strategic domains, but also to facilitate a practical community, to foster networking amongst researchers, and in the long term, to create opportunities for additional scientific projects based on cooperation between Germany, France and Italy.
The main features of the MDPS PhD program are the following:
The project is supported by the Université Franco-Allemande (UFA), the Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche (MESR) - French ministry of higher learning and research - and the French-Bavarian academic cooperation center (CCUFB/BFHZ).
It was previously supported by the German academic exchange service (DAAD) under its PhD-Net program.
